Taxes 2022: last days to file your tax return

The last deadline for the 2021 tax declaration is approaching: residents of departments nº55 to 974/976 have until Wednesday, June 8, 2022. For residents of departments nº1 to 19 and those of departments nº20 to 54, the deadlines have already passed: they were respectively set for May 24, 2022 and May 31, 2022. Once the initial declaration has been filed in time, it is then possible to correct it. The correction service will be available online, on the special area of ​​the tax site, from the beginning of August 2022 until mid-December 2022.

Right to a bank account: simplification of the procedure

Introduced by the banking law of 1984, the right to an account procedure guarantees any citizen or company the possibility of having a free account with basic banking services. From June 13, 2022, people who have not received a response to their request to open a bank account within 15 days can appeal directly to the Banque de France. One working day following its referral, it will then designate a banking establishment close to the applicant’s home or the place of his choice. In 2020, the Banque de France made 36,056 appointments under the right to a bank account procedure.

SCPI: strong increase in inflows in the first quarter of 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, real estate investment companies (SCPI) achieved net inflows of 2.6 billion euros, up 55% compared to the same period in 2021, according to figures published by the Association. French real estate investment companies (Aspim). Predominantly “office” SCPIs accounted for nearly half of net inflows in the first quarter (47%), followed by diversified strategy SCPIs (23%) and “health and education” SCPIs (18%). In 2021, SCPIs posted an average distribution rate of 4.49% and an overall property yield of 5.85%.

Borrower insurance is now cancellable at any time

According to the Lemoine law, which partially came into force on June 1, 2022, borrower insurance contracts relating to loan offers issued since that date can be canceled at any time. For current insurance contracts, this will only be possible from September 1, 2022. Until now, borrower insurance was cancellable during the first year by sending a registered letter to your insurer no later than 15 days before the anniversary date of the contract. The Lemoine law also removes the medical questionnaire in the context of a mortgage of less than 200,000 euros.

Sale by telephone: recording allowed to prove the contract

During a sale by telephone, the recording of the conversation is authorized only for the purpose of proving that a contract is signed verbally, without written support, indicates the National Commission for Computing and Liberties (CNIL) in a note. The customer must be informed of this registration and the latter must cover only the moment of the conclusion of the contract. For all other remote transactions that must be accompanied by a contract, registration is not necessary. The bank data used to pay must also not be recorded or kept, reminds the CNIL.

A mandatory energy audit for thermal sieves

From September 1, 2022, an energy audit will have to be carried out when houses or buildings classified F or G are put up for sale on the energy performance diagnosis, housing qualified as “thermal sieves”. This audit informs the purchaser of the work to be carried out to improve the energy classification of the accommodation, even if the latter are not compulsory to conclude the sale. Ticket-Restaurant: end of the ceiling at 38 euros on June 30, 2022

The daily ceiling for the use of restaurant vouchers, set at 38 euros, will return to 19 euros after June 30, 2022. Initially decided in June 2020, the doubling of the ceiling for Ticket-Restaurants was extended three times (in December 2020, in August 2021, then in February 2022) by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery as part of support for the catering sector. The ability to use them on weekends and holidays will also end on June 30, 2022.
